DRINKING WATER PATHOGENS
LEGIONELLA
Legionnaires' disease afflicts and KILLS more people in the United States than any other reportable waterborne disease. It is caused by bacteria of the Legionella genus, with the majority of diagnosed cases (from 80 to 90 percent) linked to Legionella pneumophila. The mortality rate of Legionnaires' disease can be as high as 33 percent and the incidence of the disease increased more than six-fold from 2000 to 2018. "Worldwide, the actual burden of Legionnaires' disease is generally acknowledged to be underreported, by as much as eight- to ten-fold" (National Academy of Sciences).
PSEUDOMONAS
Pseudomonas aeruginosa can be a serious pathogen particularly in hospitals and other facilities with large, complex plumbing systems..Pseudomonas is known for its ability to colonize biofilms in plumbing fixtures such as showerheads, ice machines, faucets and other parts of the premise plumbing. Pseudomonas can cause a wide range of infections--including pneumonia, osteomyelitis, surgical site infections, endocarditis, urinary tract infections, meningitis gastrointestinal infections, and septicemia. The CDC issued a report in 2019 listing Pseudomonas as a "Serious Threat" and estimated the burden of Pseudomonas for 2017 as follows:
-
32,600 hospitalized cases
-
2,700 deaths
-
$767 million in healthcare costs
(CDC Antibiotic Resistant Threats in the United States, 2019)
OTHER
E. coli, Cryptosporidium, Mycobacteria, Campylobacter, and various other waterborne bacterial pathogens also plague our water systems. "The main complication of E. coli infection is Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). About 2%-7% of infections will lead to this disease that is characterized by haemolytic anaemia (too few red blood cells in bloodstream resulting in insufficient oxygen delivery to tissues and organs) caused by the destruction of red blood cells and renal failure (permanent loss of kidney function). HUS is a life-threatening condition usually treated in an intensive care unit, with blood transfusions and kidney dialysis often being required' (Safe Drinking Water Foundation)
APPLICATIONS
COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS
Servicing large facility water systems including HOSPITAL, HOTELS, CASINOS, APARTMENTS, & OFFICE BUILDINGS.
MUNICIPAL
WATER
Servicing CITY WATER supplies to provide safe, clean drinking water without the harsh chemicals traditionally used.
PETROLEUM & NUCLEAR
No client is too big. Industrial water systems have some of the more complex issues when it comes to buildup in water systems. Our applications resolve big complex issues with a simple solution.
ABOUT US
RezTech Water, a manufacturer of water treatment products and national service provider, was founded upon cutting edge science to solve a global water crisis, which is clean water for industrial, commercial and municipal applications. We utilize an EXCLUSIVE technology to create a proprietary liquid additive that can be safely injected into water systems as an ongoing preventative measure or as a periodic treatment. Our product is non-hazardous and NSF Standard 60 Certified for drinking water.
Harmful bacteria build over time in water systems which result in sediment deposits and toxic bacteria that are disruptive to applications accessed by the system and may be harmful for human consumption.
Our service is more affordable than other expensive chemical applications and/or devices that often create additional issues or only provide a short-term fix.
We are your long-term solution for clean drinking water.
